Been a long time blogger people. I drew lovely Vivian James! Game on :D
This is your yearly update. This title is telling the truth, while hiding it under a sarcastic tone.
It certainly has been quite a while since our last update, but here I am, letting you know I’m not dead, an neither is this blog! I do have some ideas and plans for here, so for those who have stuck with me, THANK YOU! and hopefully the future content I have planned will help you procrastinate all the more efficiently!
Just to start things off I suppose I should catch some of you folks up a little. I’ve been doing the whole gaming Youtube thing and have been enjoying it quite a bit! The channel is a consumer centered game’s channel. I try to focus it on introducing interesting games to the audience while informing them if it’s worth their time and money. I also dabble in a little of let’s play to help present some of my personality and to help mix the channel up a little, and from time to time I also do guides for what ever game I’ve been playing at the time. Basically it’s a bit of a mish-mash lol. f you’re into this sort of stuff check it out! Subscribe to it if you really like it! https://www.youtube.com/user/aldershot8008
I’m also now on Twitter! I would of called myself crazy 5 years ago saying that, but hey! Gotta move with the times right? Check out the ol’ Twitter here: https://twitter.com/aldershot8008
Oh, I should probably show an example or 2 of the videos I produce as well. lol, might be useful.
So my journey into Youtube has been eventful so far! I’ve been invited into Xaviant’s studio in Atlanta, all expenses paid after doing some videos for their game Lichdom. I’ve also made lots of incredible new friends, networked with other youtubers, collabed with them, and learned a pile about social media.
Don’t worry folks, I won’t be spamming this blog with new videos every day. I’m going to keep this blog more of a personal thing, with maybe a slight skew towards artsy fartsy stuff.
The new Tomb Raider game is pretty fantastic so far. According to my save file I’m about 25% in. I’ll quickly make the obligatory comparison to the Uncharted series right now. Yes, it does feel a bit like uncharted, but that’s not a bad thing. Uncharted is a great series that has pioneered many adventure standards. Tomb Raider simply barrows the best parts of it, adds it’s own spice, while keeping in mind that Uncharted was inspired from Tomb Raider. It’s funny how things go full circle.
The game controls excellent, even more responsive than the Uncharted series, some thing Crystal Dynamics seem to nail in all their games. The puzzles are good, doesn’t stump you, but keeps you thinking, and the combat very enjoyable and feels well refined. One of my favorite parts of the game, as superficial as it might be, is the graphics. It’s one of the best looking games I own on my PC, and probably one of the best looking games I’ve seen in quite a while. I won’t comment on the story yet, as I haven’t finished the game, but I can say the common complains that the action aspect of the game play mismatches with Lara’s innocents lost story is exaggerated, and most of the complaint’s references are taken out of context. If you play the game, it does it’s best to explain why Lara is all of a sudden master assassin, even if it’s just through a quick statement or two.
Overall the game is very enjoyable, very polished, and just beautiful to view. Below are some screenshots of my game. There might be some minor spoilers, but they are kept to a minimum. No major story (or even minor) are revealed through these shots.
All screenshots were taken on the Asus G75, no mods, no photoshop, 100% in game graphics, real time renders. The game’s graphical settings are set to maximum with the exception of the anti-aliasing set to “FXAA”, and hair set to “normal” (I don’t like the tressFX hair).
If you are interested in this game please support the developers and make a purchase!
I now have a Pinterest account! I’ll more than likely be uploading new work here first since it’s a lot quicker, so if you are at all pinterested (I couldnt help myself) take a look! Subscribe! Like! Other self promotional phrases! http://pinterest.com/aldershot8008/art-and-design-and-batman/
I’ll also take this opportunity to announce there will be huge changes to this blog coming soon.
Just want to throw up some more stuff I did for school. BLEH!
The Osheaga poster was for Typography class. We had to design a wood-type (or wood-type-ish in my case) poster around an existing festival . One of the last things I did with my buds back home was go to Montreal and did the whole Osheaga 2012 thing. With out getting too much into it, let’s just say it was pretty f*%$ing awesome! If you’ve been to Osheaga 2012 let me know in the comments! I’d like to hear about your experience.
Typography’s second assignment. I made a few rough drafts of potential title headers. Just playing around with words and placement. Which one do you like? Got any suggestions?
This was an assignment from Photoshop class. We had to make a movie poster based on a fictitious movie of our own creation.
Internet trolls are kind of scary, trolls is a kind of monster, I think found my idea!
